CPR U11 Hawks win the NEHYL Div 5 Cup

The CPR U11 Hawks, led by Mike Jeffreys and Russ Gill,  have lifted the NEHYL Division 5 cup this morning in Alton in a hard fought battle against Hook Utd Lions. With a goal coming from a corner just five minutes into the game the remaining 85 minutes was a nail biting time for the spectators. The teams were well matched and Curley had several chances on goal with one hitting the post.  Hook battled on and had a few chances but the Hawk’s goalkeeper demonstrated that he is safe pair of hands, coming out several times as a sweeper keeper to meet Hook one-on-one. In the final fifteen minutes, Hook threw everything they’d got at trying to get that equaliser but Hawks defended valiantly and secured their 1-0 victory. A wonderful team effort, well done...

Curley Park Rangers U14 Youth win the Hampshire County Cup

Congratulations to the Curley Park Rangers U14 Youth team who became Hampshire County Cup champions on Saturday after triumphing in a tense penalty shootout.   In a closely fought final against Laverstock & Ford FC, Curley had a chance to wrap up the match in the final minute however, with a shot narrowly missing the target, the game went on to the dreaded penalties.  Having lost the previous year’s County Cup final on penalties Curley were determined to go one better this year and never looked back after the goalkeeper’s fantastic early penalty save.  This was followed by clinical finishing from all four Curley penalty takers until the fifth and final penalty was calmly put away to ensure Curley Park lifted that trophy for the very first time. Team Manager, Lee Davison-Poltock commented,  “Not many players get the chance to experience a County Cup Final and I’m delighted for the boys to finally get their hands on the trophy at the fourth time of asking.  As a coach it is a privilege to manage such a wonderful group of boys, many of whom have been with the club from 6 years old.  Their hard work and dedication has finally paid off and I couldn’t be prouder.” VERY WELL DONE BOYS FROM EVERYONE AT...

U10 Tigers take the NEHYL Invicta Cup

Under expert guidance of coach Rob Barnes, the U10 Tigers won the NEHYL Invicta Cup against Petersfield Town on November 25th. The Tigers won all three of their pool games and headed to the final with confidence but also slightly nervous as many of the players had reached a final earlier in the year only to lose on penalties. The Tigers put on the pressure and had the majority of the possession at the start but while they pushed forward Petersfield, with a very strong attacking duo, broke free in Leicester City style and managed to get through and go 1-0 up. The crowd were shocked and with nerves creeping in the Tigers slightly lost the beautiful passing game that they had shown to reach the final. Undeterred though, they battled back and won many of the tackles and the pressure finally paid off when they equalized. The Tigers continued to push but Petersfield’s goalkeeper made it very frustrating and although Petersfield’s deadly duo upfront tried hard,  the Tigers defensive unit and goalkeeper were just too good for them.  Finally, with the thought of extra time and another possible penalty shoot out looming the Tigers pulled off some great passing through the centre and broke free to secure a second goal, resulting in a final score of : CPR U10 Tigers:2 – Petersfield Town FC U10: 1. Well done to the boys, a truly great team effort throughout the whole...
